A new residential area will be built in the Jizzakh region on the site of vacant land
In the Jizzakh region, construction is beginning on a modern residential area called “Yangi Jizzakh” (New Jizzakh), which will occupy 40 hectares of vacant land between the regional center and the Sharaf-Rashidov district. The project предусматривает construction of 50 multi-storey buildings designed for 1,200 families.
The new residential development is part of a large-scale socio-economic development programme for 2026–2027 approved by presidential resolution. The programme aims not only to address housing needs but also to reduce unemployment and poverty: authorities plan to lower unemployment to 3% and poverty to 2.8%, fully eliminating these issues in Jizzakh city and six surrounding districts.
Regional economic growth is expected to accelerate to 8.5% annually through the expansion of services (+13.2%) and industry (+7.8%). Specialised business support centres covering forty local mahallas will be opened in five districts of the region.
The agricultural sector will also undergo major transformation: in the Bakhmal, Zaamin, Gallaaral and Farish districts, 5,000 hectares of old orchards and vineyards will be replaced with new plantations across 57 mahallas, helping intensify production and improve agricultural efficiency.
This comprehensive set of measures aims to transform the Jizzakh region into a modern industrial and agricultural hub, providing a comfortable urban environment and favourable conditions for business development.
