The President was presented with the general plan of Tashkent: the capital will be divided into three zones
On October 9, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the master plan of Tashkent, which is planned to be divided into three zones, the press service of the head of state reported.The capital will be divided into a conservation zone, where the preservation of cultural heritage sites, historical sites and other objects will be ensured, a reconstruction zone, in which it is planned to build objects based on master plans, and a renovation zone, where it is planned to build new buildings on the site of dilapidated housing.
It was noted that the air temperature in Tashkent has increased by one degree over the past 10 years. On some days, the level of pollutants in the atmosphere exceeds the norm
In this regard, it is planned to increase the area of green zones in Tashkent and its environs by three times, bringing them to 25 thousand hectares. Thanks to this, the area of green spaces per capita will increase from the current 3 to 6 square meters.
“The head of our state emphasized the need to turn Tashkent into a large metropolis with favorable conditions for living and working for at least 7.5 million people. Instructions were given to develop the Kibray, Zangiata, Yukorichirchik, Urtachirchik and Tashkent districts of the Tashkent region on the basis of a single agglomeration with the capital,” the president’s website says.
Recall that the corresponding presidential decree, adopted on August 17, 2018, was to announce an international competition for the development of a master plan for the city of Tashkent.
Earlier, Kun.uz wrote that the World Bank recommended that Uzbekistan invest in reducing emissions.
